Thomas O. Davis began his Boys & Girls Clubs career in 1963 with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. First hired as part-time office attendant, Davis held a number of positions, including individual service director, unit director, and assistant executive director, before serving as the Club's executive director until his retirement in 1996.
Davis served on numerous national committees for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, including the National Certification Board, the Task Force on Health and the Human Resources Advisory Committee. Throughout his career, Davis was an active member of the Association of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals (ABGCP), serving as chairman of the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter and as a national vice president.
In 1987 Davis was named the ABGCP's National Professional of the Year for his outstanding service and dedication, and he has been honored with the Herman Prescott Award and the Bronze Keystone Award, among others.
