Trulia Harvey

Director of Operations, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston

Trulia Harvey is the Director of Operations for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. She is a native of Houston and has had a career long commitment to youth development. Harvey holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Texas in Austin. She began her service to youth volunteering at elementary schools while in college.

Harvey’s commitment to the development of young people was heightened after her involvement as a Team Leader with Serve Houston Americorps which resulted in the development of a relationship with the local Boys & Girls Club and ignited her passion for Mission. She volunteered for several months at the Boys & Girls Club and soon after began her employment as Director of Operations.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston currently has 15 Clubs with a membership of over 14,000 members. As Director of Operations, Harvey currently oversees the day-to-day operations of seven of the Clubs. Since becoming involved in the Boys & Girls Club Movement, Harvey has been a National Training Associate in the areas of Program Basics and Social Recreation. She is a member of The Professional Association and served as Chair of the East Texas Professional Association for two years. Harvey has provided leadership on various steering committees including the Southwest Leadership Retreat for Management Professionals and YET Planning Committees.

Harvey is a member of the Academy, completed Middle Managers Track I and II and the Strom Thurmond Leadership Institute at Clemson University. Harvey has been active as a member of the Society of African American Professionals (SOAAP) for three years and currently serves as Chair of the Southwest Chapter.
