Network & Mentoring Member Bio

Cal, an Oakland Club alumnus, began his career in 1979 following 4 years of study in the American Humanics Program (AH) at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. AH-a national alliance of colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations preparing undergraduates for careers with youth and human service agencies-prepared Cal for an internship at the Stockton Club, Branch Director responsibilities at the Fresno, California Clubs, and to return home to Oakland as a Branch Director in 1981. He was promoted to Assistant Executive Director in 1988 and to CPO in 1992. He has served B&GCA on many fronts including current roles with: the Association of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals (National Board), the Constitutional Commission, and the National Diversity Council. As an Academy of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals Distinguished Level member, Cal offers experience including board development, strategic planning, organizational development, and fund development.
