Carl Carl Andrews
Newark, New Jersey

Carl R. Andrews entered the Movement in 1952 as unit director of the Morton Boys Club in Newark, New Jersey. In 1966 Carl, the first African American staff member at Boys Clubs of America was hired as assistant director of Program and Training Services.

Carl received numerous awards during his career including Meritorious Service Award, the Bronze Keystone Award and the Heart and Soul award. Carl's inspiration and selfless service to youth have won him the gratitude and appreciation of countless professionals throughout the Movement.
