Gene has more than 30 years of progressive experience in the Boys & Girls Club Movement. Gene joined the Field Services team in 1997, leaving Madison Square Boys & Girls Clubs where he served as Marketing & Communications Director. Operational experience includes serving as unit director for Madison Square Boys & Girls Club as well as the Boys Club of Wilmington.
During Gene's years with Madison Square, the organization received four B&GCA Marketing & Communications Excellence Awards and two Honorable Mentions. Its 1994 Annual Report was recognized by the Association of Graphic Communications; its 1995 Annual Report was designated one of The How Design Magazine?s 202 Best Self-Promotions of 1996. Gene also received Champion International?s Certificate of Distinction for outstanding achievement in graphic arts, for Madison Square?s Campaign for the '90s.
A former Club member, Sectional Youth of the Year winner and Keystone Club president, Gene earned his B.A. at Herbert Lehman College, CUNY, majoring in sociology. Long-time field service consultant in resource development and marketing, and lecturer on our conference circuit, he was promoted to Senior Regional Service Director for the Northeast Region June 2003.
