Dr. Carter Savage



Dr. Carter Julian Savage is the founder and Chief Idea Officer for I-AM Consulting. Concurrently, he is an Associate at the W. E. B Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University and a Scholar-In-Residence at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Savage is the former Vice President of Program & Youth Development Services for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.


Dr. Savage has published several scholarly articles, book chapters and magazine articles on the history of education for African Americans, the social context of education for at-risk youth, the theoretical framework of after school programs, and the development of after-school education programs. Co-edited with Dr. V. P. Franklin, Savage's first book, Cultural Capital and Black Education: African American Communities and the Funding of Black Schooling, 1865 to the Present, was published in 2005.
